The Mims/Scottsmoor Public Library opened in December 1998 and serves approximately 16,000 residents.  It is located on the corner of Old Dixie Highway and Lionel Road, adjacent to Pinewood Elementary School in Mims. There are thousands of traditional  books available for people of all ages.  The library also has internet connections, “Wireless  Access”,  videos,  DVD’s, musical CD’s,  books on CD, books on tape, periodicals, and several databases available through the Brevard County Library System’s web page.  Special community programs are held throughout the year.

The Friends of the Mims/Scottsmoor Public Library are dedicated to promoting the Welfare and growth of the Mims/Scottsmoor Public Library, to enrich its resources, to make its services and also its needs known to the community, and to stimulate gifts and donations.  The Friends conduct membership drives and sponsor book sales and other activities to raise funds to purchase needed items for the library.

The library is very fortunate to have not one but two websites.  The website you are on is maintained by our very own web master, Glenn Smith.  We also have a website  (http://www.nbbd.com/npr/fmslibrary/index.html) maintained through the North Brevard Business Directory.   We love having all this “high tech” exposure!

For more information about our group, for day and time of the next meeting, or to become a member and be placed on our mailing list to receive meeting notices and newsletters, call the library at (321) 264-5080 or e-mail the Library Director.
