The establishment of our new library has been  enhanced by fund-raising by the Friends of the Library and by donations from community-minded businesses and individuals like "AJ" seen here. Some of the fund-raisers held by the FRIENDS include: book sales, bake sales, sale of McDonalds coupon books at holiday times, a Dining Out Raffle in which the winner received free meals at various local eating establishments, and pancake breakfasts at McDonalds of Mims. In addition to books for sale , the Library has T-shirts and a woven Throw exclusively designed for the FRIENDS and featuring our locale. The FRIENDS Throw can be viewed at the Mims-Scottsmoor Library. For History Buffs, the library offers three (3) volumes of Brevard County History with pricing from $29.95 to $45. more info Items that have been donated by library supporters include books, videos, office supplies, a TV and VCR, cabinets, a slide projector, indoor plants, etc. Several other amenities, such as periodical subscriptions and a book drop unit, have been purchased with monetary contributions. Contributions can be specified toward a particular item or made to the general fund to use where needed. You may help also by purchasing FRIENDS T-shirts, tote bags and other items with the FRIENDS Logo. Volunteer workers are essential to the operation of the library. Joining the FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY and participating in their fund-raisers and other activities is another good way to help out.
